Resleyed and looking good

Not too much time for fiber this weekend, but at least the towels are back on. I didn't get a chance to start on the sweater either, but I think it's going to be raglan, knit from the neck down, with a panel of patterned stitches down the front.

Most of my time this weekend was spent picking up and getting ready for the Thanksgiving crowd - 35 this year. I also have to clean up the thesis room so it can turn back into Josh's room. Last year I finally got smart and made notes about what worked and what didn't so I'm feeling much more calm. That's good, since I have conferences Tuesday night and Wednesday. I'm also in love - I finally got a decent food processor! This thing purrs. I didn't even have to turn up the iPod. I like to make my cranberry relish several days in advance to let the flavors blend together. This year I toasted the walnuts first. It added a nice touch, I think. Tomorrow night I'll make the pastry for the pies.

35? How big is this turkey? Several years ago we "just" got a 49# turkey into the oven. We didn't have that many people over, I think around 20. We are still eating that turkey. Woosh!
I think next year I will have to supply you with a turkey for your crowd.

  3. I hope you have help in the kitchen?!?! I'm cooking for 4 (incl. myself), and that feels like a lot of work already, heh, what do I know? Love the new FP - isn't it great to be working with high quality tools? Really makes things go more smoothly.

  5. The towels are super! I love that pattern. I hung my first handwoven towel on the oven door, but I will slay anyone who actually wipes a hand on it!

I love the towels that you are weaving! Did you come up with the pattern yourself? Very very pretty. I am hoping to concentrate a bit more on weaving this winter ;-)

  8. Did you get the chrome finish? If so, does it show fingerprints badly? I need to get a new cuis -- gave my 10yo one to my parents when theirs broke (after 20 years of hard use).
Toasted walnuts in your cranberry relish? Recipe, please?
