Tied One On!!

I absolutely love this part of weaving prep! As the warp smooths out and the colors line up there's nothing but possibilities.

All I have to do is tie up the treadles and I'm ready to go.  Considering how long it took to get this warp from the warping reel to the loom the weaving will seem like a minute!
I don't know about your corner of the world but it's but excessively hot and dry here - well, no rain but plenty of humidity - this is PA after all!  The flowers and grasses are looking pretty bleak but I was able to catch a pretty good shot by getting on the ground and shooting up.  I don't think I need any reminders of how parched everything looked this summer.

Back in the Garden

I'm only teaching two weeks this summer so I hope to get my gardens back from the weeds.  For now, it's only close ups :-)

Purple Coneflower

Once the scarves are off the loom I have some place mats and a runner, followed up by a tablecloth in the works.

Lots of good ideas.  Finally a little time!

Korean Tree Peonies Are Blooming

(Or Charleen Gets A New Camera)

It's that tiime of the year again. Time for my Korean Tree Peonies to strut their stuff!

Since I got a new camera I wasn't able to stop shooting pictures of flowers. My Christmas cactus hasn't stopped blooming, although I think it's on its last hurrah.

I bought a bunch of these Gerber daisies for container on the deck.

We finally got around to replacing the roof and soon we'll have new siding. To mark this momentous occasion I tried to get a picture of our new roof. Yikes! Once I saw my shadow I was forced to run inside.

Freaky, isn't it? Reminds me of these crazy guys I saw on my trip to Canada last summer!
