As I was attenuating the roving I dyed a couple of weeks ago, I started to think it might be better as a soft spun single.
I'll knit up a swatch but I'll give the Navajo plying a try too. I could change my mind. I'm still planning on mittens... at least for now.
I still haven't put a warp on. I'm back in Penn State's Technology Integration program, so my fiber time is being challenged again. At least this time it's through the World Campus so I can go to class in my jammies!
OK, there's an amazing difference in the colors of the roving vs. the yarn, perhaps it's the photos? Is there really such a change?
ReplyDeleteYou asked in the comments to my post today about what my plans were for the rainbow dyed yarn. I am planning on making a spiral baby blanket for a friend who reads my blog sometimes. Hence the reason I didn't mention it. I don't do stranded knitting that much but it is something I want to practice more. I love the way the gradient yarn looks when stranded with a solid and hope to get a chance to try it out for myself. Thanks for the compliment and have fun when you get the blanks from Nancy!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you left a comment on my blog. It lead me to you. The blanket colors are terrific. I find that the yarn mad with multicolred rovings are more often than not, a very muted blend.
